Tottenham announced two new coaches on Monday afternoon and Spurs fans are absolutely delighted to see Ryan Mason get an official role at the club.

Matt Taylor is the new Under-18s coach while Mason has been officially unveiled as Academy coach.

The news was announced on the official Tottenham Twitter account.

Mason came up through the youth ranks at Spurs and broke into the Tottenham team under Mauricio Pochettino before he was sold to Hull for £13.8million in 2016.

His career was ended at the age of just 26 after he fractured his skull in a horrific collision with Gary Cahill and he returned to Tottenham to work on his coaching badges last year.

Pochettino had told him the door was always open at Tottenham and his new official role at the club marks the sort of heart-warming story you don’t often hear about in football.

Plenty of Tottenham fans are made up with the news with one saying, “I just died and went to heaven” and another saying Mason would be the next first-team manager when Pochettino “retires in about 15 years”.

It’s proof that good things are happening at Tottenham under Pochettino both on and off the pitch.

Here’s what the Tottenham fans are saying about the news:
