Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo has got off to a very fast start at Rangers.

The 22-year-old scored against Oxford in a friendly at the weekend, despite only being on the pitch for 29 minutes, and he was at it again in the Europa League qualifying win against St Joseph’s on Tuesday night.

Ojo got the second goal in a comprehensive 4-0 win for Gerrard’s side, with Ryan Jack, Connor Goldson and Alfredo Morelos scoring the others.

Talking after the game Gerrard heaped praise on the youngster saying, “He has got everything in the locker, he is quick, he is strong, he is powerful, he takes on information.”

And his stats suggest that he could be a very potent weapon at Ibrox this season.

Ojo scores a goal every four games on average [wyscout.com] but it’s his dribbling numbers that stand out – 8.75 dribbles per 90 with a 73.2% success rate. This compares well with Ryan Kent who was such a hit on the wing at Rangers last season. Kent offers roughly a goal every 10 games with 10.48 dribbles per 90 minutes with a 67.2% success rate.

It’s obviously early days for Ojo but the Rangers fans were loving what they saw in Gibraltar last night and think they’ve got a real player on their hands.

His goal was fantastic, with Ojo cutting inside on the right and curling a brilliant finish into the corner of the net.

This is what the fans were saying after Ojo’s first competitive display and goal for Rangers:
