Harry Kane gave Tottenham’s pre-season a boost in their Audi Cup game against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
He scored the only goal of the game after 22 minutes following a really poor mistake from Marcelo that gifted him the ball 20 yards out.
Kane ran into the corner of the six-yard box and slotted the ball past Navas in the Real Madrid goal.
It was an impressive first-half from Spurs, with Foyth handling Eden Hazard well at right-back and Danny Rose showing why plenty of Tottenham fans don’t want him to be sold this summer.
The star of the show was Erik Lamela, though, with the 27-year-old behind almost everything positive that Tottenham did.
Lamela didn’t enjoy last season, with just nine starts in the Premier League, but he looked bang up for it in the first 45 minutes at the Allianz Arena.
He came off at half-time as Mauricio Pochettino made nine changes but his side held on in the second-half, with Real Madrid having a goal disallowed for offside in the 75th minute.
Here are the best reactions to Lamela’s display:
Erik Lamela is playing a blinder, the #thfc attacker just successfully dribbled past player after player. #AudiCup

If you want Lamela’s half summed up in one clip it’s this one. He takes on almost the entire Real Madrid side before chipping a sumptuous ball through to Harry Kane, only for the striker to be thwarted by Navas.
Lamela is an absolute beast in pre-season every year.

We're currently at the "Lamela will be like a new signing this season" part of the cycle. Like clockwork.

Two Spurs fans have clocked a pattern – that Lamela always performs well in pre-season before falling away.
However, in his defence he has suffered a lot through injury and one fan said some supporters are too spoilt to see past that.

Back to that move now, though, because it was that good. We’ll give the final word to the Tottenham fan who said, “Why does Messi have a Lamela mask on?”
The big question is whether Lamela can keep that Messi mask on next season.
