Jim White has said that 22-year-0ld midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is currently at Tottenham as he homes in on a move from Lyon.
Talking on the Jim White Show (talkSPORT, Tuesday, 11.30am), the host said, “I understand Ndombele has arrived at Tottenham’s training ground ahead of a club-record £65m move.
“Danny Murphy was on the show yesterday and he said ‘Sign him and watch Tottenham go’.”
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas tweeted later to say that Ndombele had completed his medical and that his agent Pini Zahavi had arrived in London to iron out the last details of the deal with Daniel Levy.

Tottenham are spending money. They announced a four-year deal for Jack Clarke earlier on Monday morning, and it looks like Ndombele could be following shortly. Danny Murphy thinks that the 22-year-old will transform Tottenham and it will be fascinating to see how he adapts to life in the Premier League. Ndombele hasn’t played league football outside of France but he has impressed at Lyon so much that they stand to make a £58m profit on him after signing him for just £7.2m last summer. It’s his forward-thinking that could transform the Tottenham side though. Ndombele makes 8.97 passes to the final third per 90 minutes with an 83.5% accuracy. And he makes 1.93 passes to the box with a 63.9% accuracy, with 17.3 forward passes per 90 compared to just 6.145 backward passes.
