Tottenham face a real test this evening when they take on Real Madrid – sans Gareth Bale – at the Allianz Arena in Germany.

Bale won’t face his former side after a lucrative move to China was blocked by the Read Madrid board.

Serge Aurier, Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Victor Wanyama are out for Tottenham in a game that could see Danny Rose play, despite speculation over his immediate future.

But it’s the selection on the right flank that will be of most interest to Tottenham fans after Kieran Trippier was sold to Atletico Madrid.

New role for Foyth

If Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t buy anyone, it’s looking like a straight fight between Juan Foyth and Kyle Walker-Peters for the place next season.

Foyth was bought as a centre-back but was deployed at right-back last season and has als0 impressed there in the last three games for Argentina.

He’s suspended for the start of the season and that could see Walker-Peters get the chance to make the right-back spot his own.

However, we think Foyth has to be favourite to be Poch’s number one next season and we think the young Argentine will get the nod tonight with Walker-Peters playing against Inter Milan at the weekend ahead of the Premier League opener against Aston Villa.

Predicted XI:

Lloris, Foyth, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Winks, Sissoko, Ndombele, Eriksen, Son, Kane
