It’s been a good summer for Leeds so far.

They’ve announced loan deals for Jack Harrison, Ben White and Helder Costa, with the latter turning into a permanent deal next summer.

Jack Clarke has also signed on loan for the season after leaving to join Tottenham.

So far, so good. However, Leeds journalist Phil Hay has said he doesn’t see much more happening in terms of first-team arrivals.

And that could mean that the rest of the summer is a nervy wait for fans who will hope Leeds can hold onto their key stars – notably Kalvin Phillips and Pontus Jansson.

Aston Villa want Phillips but haven’t bid enough yet. That could change though, with the Birmingham Mail saying Leeds would “begrudgingly sell” if the price is right.

There’s been plenty of speculation surrounding Pontus Jansson too, with Fulham said to be keen on the combative centre-back.

Talk among Leeds fans has centred around the fact that Jansson hasn’t turned up for pre-season yet, after reports of a falling out between him and manager Marcelo Bielsa.

However, it looks like there’s an innocent explanation for this. BBC journalist Adam Pope has claimed that Jansson was given extended leave because of international duty with Sweden.

He posted an update to say Jansson should be back in time for the pre-season tour to Australia.

That should calm the nerves of the fans, for a bit, although we’re sure that talk of Jansson’s impending departure will continue until he’s sold or until the window shuts.
