COMMENTARY
Aston Villa fans made their voices heard on social media after their club were linked with making a move for Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe. Football Insider reported on Saturday that the Villans were plotting a summer for the 26-year-old forward, and it didn’t go down well with many Villans supporters to say the least. One Villans fan claimed Roofe wasn’t good enough for the Championship, despite the attacker scoring 16 goals in England’s second-tier for Leeds in his 2018/19 campaign, while others simply said no thanks. It’s easy to understand why many Aston Villa supporters despaired as they want their club to be linked to Premier-League proven players now they’re set to be in the top-flight. Roofe has never played in England’s top-flight before and it’s hard to know if he has what it takes to cut it at a higher level. Also given the 26-year-old has suffered injuries problems at Elland Road in his latest season, do the Villans really want an injury-prone attacker?
