Wolves are winning the race to sign AC Milan striker Andre Silva this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian newspaper claims that Valencia, Monaco, Marseille and Fenerbahce are also interested in signing the 23-year-old but at the moment, Wolves are in pole position for his signature after making multiple approaches for the Portugal international.

It is understood that Silva is “destined” to leave the San Siro this summer and Milan want £26.6million for the striker, who spent last season on loan at Sevilla where he scored just 11 goals in 40 total appearances.

Good move for Wolves?

Silva has not been in great form since he left Porto to sign for AC Milan back in 2017.

The Portuguese forward struggled in his debut campaign at the San Siro by scoring just 10 goals in 40 outings, and his form at Sevilla hardly improved either.

Nuno Espirito Santo does need another striker this summer but he should probably avoid £33,000-a-week [Di Marzio] Silva because that £26.6million price-tag is way too much for someone who has not been in the best form for two years.

Likely to happen?

Wolves have been linked with Silva for quite some time now, mainly due to Jorge Mendes, who has strong ties to Molineux, is the striker’s agent.

However the West Midlands club seem to be quite serious with some reported approaches made to the 23-year-old, so maybe it will be this summer when the 33-cap Portugal international heads to Molineux.
