West Ham have submitted an offer to sign Eibar midfielder Joan Jordan, according to Marca.

The Spanish news outlet claims that the 24-year-old has a release clause worth £13.3million in his contract with the La Liga club, who are willing to negotiate a deal to sell the central midfielder this summer.

It is understood that Valencia, Villarreal and Arsenal, as well as other teams in England, have made enquiries about Jordan.

Good move for West Ham?

Jordan has had a decent season with Eibar.

The former Espanyol midfielder scored four goals and supplied four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions and it is no surprise to see that he is being linked with a move away this summer.

West Ham could do with adding some strength to almost every part of their squad this summer and even though their central midfield area is well-stocked with Declan Rice and Mark Noble, it would not hurt to add someone in like Jordan, who can also play on the wings or in a move advanced No 10 role.

Manuel Pellegrini knows La Liga well and that £13.3million release clause must be quite tempting.

Likely to happen?

It remains to be seen how Eibar will react to West Ham’s “proposal”, but the Irons should not have an issues triggering Jordan’s release clause if they become very interested in the player.

West Ham’s issue at the moment is that there are a lot of clubs who are eyeing up the Spanish midfielder, so the chances of signing him are still quite low.
