West Ham United are not interested in making a move for Fenerbache left-back Hasan Ali Kaldirim this summer, according to Claret and Hugh.

The reliable outlet report that a senior West Ham source suggested the club are not interested in Kaldirim at the moment, with the left-back position not believed to be an area that Manuel Pellegrini is prioritising this summer with both Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell all ready at the London Stadium.

The report is contrary to an earlier one from BBC Sport, which suggested that West Ham are interested in the left-back, who is believed to have a release clause of £4.4million in his contract which expires next year.

OPINION

It will be interesting to see if West Ham do make a move for Kaldirim this summer amid the conflicting reports over a potential move. At the moment West Ham already have two left-backs, Masuaku and Cresswell, in competition for a regular starting spot in Pellegrini’s side. Both players were at times the club’s first choice last season, but equally both spent time out of the side which could suggest Pellegrini has yet to be fully convinced by the pair. That means that the Chilean might be tempted to go into the transfer market and sign a left-back who he can entrust to be the club’s first choice in that position next season. Kaldirim would provide plenty of experience at the age of 29 and would offer leadership qualities, with the defender currently the captain at Fenerbache. However, any move for the left-back could well depend on whether the Hammers can sort out positions deemed a greater priority first this summer.
