West Ham fans should be getting very excited after a senior club source made a bold claim about the club’s summer transfer activity.
Speaking to Claret & Hugh, the source said that the Hammers’ transfer business could be done and dusted in as little as 10 days.
“We expect to resolve the situation within 7-10 days and we have five or six targets,” the source said.
“The manager wants to attack teams and is looking for creative midfielders and we expect to get them done quickly.”
This report has got to excite West Ham fans, because it surely means they can expect a flurry of transfer activity in the coming days.
One deal which could be announced very soon is that which could bring Pablo Fornals to the London Stadium from Spanish side Villarreal, which could be wrapped up by the end of play on Wednesday [Football Insider].
There are lots of other deals which have been reported that could well happen, and one involves a double swoop of Celta Vigo for striker Maxi Gomez and defensive midfielder Stanislav Lobotka [Gianluca di Marzio].
These are just some of the deals which have been reported by various outlets in recent days, and by the sounds of it, things are really starting to hot up at the London Stadium.
The target of having everything wrapped up in – at the latest – 10 days’ time is very ambitious and it could come as a stretch too far if one of their reported deals falls through or a player or agent has their say and ends up pulling out.
But one thing is for sure: it is a real sign of intent from the West Ham board and one which shows that the club is striving to push on from their 10th-placed finish in the Premier League last term.
The club want to keep on finishing higher season on season and, by the looks of things, they are wasting no time in putting plans in place to try to achieve that.
