Tottenham are “set to sign” Fulham attacker Ryan Sessegnon this summer, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claims that Spurs are reeling in the £40million-rated teenager, who was relegated from the Premier League with the Cottagers last season.

It is understood that while Sessegnon, 19, spent most of last term playing as a left-sided winger, he has been viewed by Tottenham as a long-term replacement for Danny Rose at left-back.

Good move for Tottenham?

Sessegnon was not that great last season but anyone would be foolish to think that the England Under-21 international is anywhere near to being the finish product.

Overall he has been superb at Craven Cottage, and has already made 120 senior appearances for Fulham despite only celebrating his 19th birthday last month.

The left-winger would be a great signing for Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

He has a lot of potential and his ability to play as an attack-minded wing-back could suit the North London club very well.

Likely to happen?

The Mirror’s report definitely suggests that this deal will be completed at some point this summer – it seems like a matter of when, and not if.

Spurs are unlikely to meet Fulham’s £40million valuation of the teenage sensation, but they will no doubt be spending a lot of money on the London-born ace, who is in the final year of his contract at Craven Cottage.
