OPINION
Kieran Trippier has not had a great season for Tottenham and has been widely-criticised by fans for his performances. However there is no way that the 28-year-old deserves to be absolutely annihilated for his first-half display against Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday night. The former Burnley right-back has been nowhere near as bad as these fans are making out. Trippier was involved in the opening minute penalty decision when he was trying to stop a cross from Sadio Mane. He did that successfully but Mane just turned and kicked the ball at Moussa Sissoko’s arm, which was stupidly stuck up in the air. However for some reason many fans have taken aim at Trippier, who offered Spurs a strong output on the right-wing and didn’t do a whole lot wrong defensively. Trippier is up against Mane and Andrew Robertson, it’s going to be tough for him so fans should take it a bit easier.
