Tottenham are continuing to monitor Jack Grealish’s situation at Aston Villa and could launch a bid for the midfielder this summer, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that Villa are hopeful of keeping hold of the 23-year-old after winning promotion to the Premier League, but Tottenham could still table a “huge offer” to sign the Birmingham-born playmaker.

It is understood that the Villans have eyed up potential replacements for Grealish in case he does move on this summer and Blackburn ace Bradley Dack is one of them.

Good move for Tottenham?

Even though he missed a good chunk of the season with an injury, Grealish has come on leaps and bounds in the Championship under the wing of Dean Smith and if there were ever any doubts about him stepping up to the Premier League, they are surely gone now.

If Villa did not have Grealish last season, then they simply wouldn’t have been promoted.

When he missed 13 league games through injury, Villa won just two times and as soon as he returned, they went on a 10-match winning streak.

Tottenham might find themselves losing Christian Eriksen this summer and although Grealish is a bit of a different type of attacking midfielder to the Dane, he would surely be a top addition.

Likely to happen?

Sky Sports has recently reported that Aston Villa will reject Tottenham’s advances for Grealish this summer but money always talks in football and if a massive bid is made, Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy could still get the former England youth international.

He is widely expected to stay put at Villa Park though and Spurs are unlikely to bid big for the £40,000-a-week [talkSPORT] ace.
