With ten league titles in a row seemingly within touching distance, there are going to be a number of Celtic players desperate to remain at Parkhead to help the Hoops achieve the tremendous feet.

Veteran captain Scott Brown would undoubtedly love to keep his career going for another two years while at the other end of the spectrum 22-year-old Kieran Tierney will be keen to add another couple of trophies to his ever growing list of honours in the early stages of his career.

The full back is one of the Bhoys’ top performers and his impressive performances has seen plenty of speculation build over his future, with clubs in the Premier League, such as Arsenal and Leicester City, linked with moves for the full back.

Daily Record journalist Darren Cooney, speaking on the Record Celtic Podcast (12/06, 21:00), claims that Tierney himself does not want a move away from the club he supports any time soon, with a £25million price tag on his head.

Unfortunately for Tierney, if anyone does meet that mega money price tag then Celtic may well have to break both his and their hearts.

The Hoops cannot afford to be letting that sort of deal pass them up – it is the sort of figures which might come around two or three times a decade and it would go an awfully long way to improving the Hoops not only in the transfer market but as a football club, with investment in the training ground and other facilities.

With English football all about splashing the cash, a £25million price tag is everyday talk south of the border but in Scotland that is money which most clubs can only dream about.

Tierney and Celtic want him to stay on board for a long time but as a business that might not be a realistic aim – leaving the Hoops in the potential position where they have to sell up.
