OPINION
Spurs and Daniel Levy seem ready to spring into action this transfer window after failing to make a signing in the previous two years. It was reported on Wednesday by the Guardian that the club have opened talks with Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, but the clubs were far apart in their valuations of the 22-year-old. Later on the same day, The Sun reported that Spurs have made a club-record £60million bid for Ndombele in a bid to beat Premier League rivals Manchester United and City to the transfer. This would send out a great signal of intent from Spurs and their fans seemed desperate for a deal to be completed when reacting on Twitter. Many Lilywhite fans were skeptical over the reports claiming they had launched a bid but urged Daniel Levy to open his chequebook to complete a deal quickly. One fan said: “Pay the money, he’s worth every penny!”. Another fan demanded the Spurs chairman Levy seal the deal: “Don’t mess this up, Levy”.
