Rangers fans will surely love the prediction that Marcus Gayle has made about Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo, who has been linked with a move to Steven Gerrard’s side.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Gayle – who coached Aribo when the 22-year-old was playing in non-league football – said that the midfielder would impress if he moved north of the border.

“He has a tremendous left foot and he’s very skilful and confident and if he ends up at Rangers then it won’t faze him and he’d be a delight up there with the fans,” the coach said.

“Joe is still so young and hungry and he’s determined. I’m very proud of him and hopefully he gets the dream move that he wants.”

Rangers fans have got to love this prediction, as it shows quite clearly that there is still a lot more to come from Aribo, and that the Gers could be the club who get it out of him.

Aribo, who is reportedly wanted at Ibrox according to Football Insider. showed what he is all about at Charlton last season, who he joined in January 2017. Last term, the promising midfielder made 39 appearances, scoring 10 goals and assisting five others.

It is clear that Aribo has talent just by looking at those statistics, and there is no doubt that he would be a good addition to this Rangers squad.

Gerrard’s side is in need of an exciting talent who can link midfield to attack and Aribo seems to tick all the boxes necessary and could well fill the role.

And with these latest comments from Gayle, that seems even more likely. In terms of the culture and atmosphere at the respective clubs, it would be a big step up for Aribo moving from Charlton to Rangers.

It usually takes some getting used to, but with Aribo’s former coach saying he would be able to handle the pressure easily, Rangers fans will be wanting the move to happen even more.

There is nothing concrete as of yet that suggests a move to the Gers could happen for Aribo, but all the signs are suggesting that it would be a great piece of business.
