Celtic face a big summer ahead of them.

After months of turmoil and uncertainty, the Hoops have finally settled on their new permanent manager in the form of Neil Lennon, and will be looking to kick on and give him the backing he needs to rebuild the squad in his image.

The club managed to get over the line in their pursuit of the treble treble this season, but honestly, there were times when it felt as if they were limping their way into the history books, and the sooner that Lennon is given some cash to bring in the players he needs to make this side his own, the better for everybody concerned.

That’s why it is refreshing to see the Bhoys pile so readily into their offer for Motherwell sensation David Turnbull, as reported by the BBC.

The 19-year-old hit 16 goals this term, and looks for all the world as if he could be a rising star of the Scottish game.

It makes sense, therefore, for the best team in Scotland to be hot on his heels, but according to the Daily Record, they could face stiff competition from the Premier League.

Bournemouth are understood to be keen on the teenager, and that could present a real problem for the Hoops.

The Cherries boast a much more capable financial position than Lennon’s side, and if it comes down to straight up bidding war, you worry for the Hoops’ chances of snapping Turnbull up.

That being said, they can offer certain things that Eddie Howe’s team can’t.

The prestige of playing for Celtic, not to mention the increased likelihood of first team football, will always be a massive draw.

Celtic must double down and go all out to make this move happen.
