Celtic are interested in signing Nantes youngster Nathan Gassama, according to Goal France.
The source says that the Hoops have been tracking the 18-year-old centre-back – who stands at 6ft 2 inches – as part of a potential move to sign the player this summer.
Gassama – who plays for Nantes’ Under-18s setup – has two years left on his youth contract with the club and is one of the most exciting young defenders in France, according to Goal France.
They face competition from Watford who have already made contact with the French club.
Good move for Celtic?
If the report is to be believed, and Gassama really is one of the most exciting young talents in France, then Celtic will definitely want to bring him to Parkhead and get him in their youth setup. The Hoops have a fantastic record of bringing in youngsters and developing them into proper players, and, if this report is true, then Gassama is definitely a player they could work wonders with. It is not yet known whether this reported interest will progress any further, but Gassama is for sure a player to keep an eye on.

Again, who knows at this stage. The report from Goal France does not say much on the player, only that Celtic have ‘observed’ Gassama this season. It is not yet known how firm the club’s interest is in the player and so this one, at this moment in time, is very hard to judge.
