Rodgers keen on Justin

It’s fair to say that Brendan Rodgers isn’t the most popular man in Glasgow at the moment.

After walking away from Celtic in the middle of a season that saw them gunning for a treble treble, the manager has become a figure of some annoyance at Parkhead, and understandably so.

The Hoops haven’t had a boss like him in many years, and losing him was always going to sting, but to see him wash his hands of the club midway through such a historic campaign felt like a real betrayal to many supporters.

But it would seem that the kicks to the teeth might not be finished yet.

According to the Daily Record, Rodgers could be set to intervene and hijack the Bhoys’ proposed move for Luton Town defender James Justin.

The 21-year-old Hatters full-back is regarded as a potential replacement for Mikael Lustig, but it is understood that Rodgers is keen to take him to new club Leicester City instead.

If that does happen, it would surely be the final straw for any Celtic fans holding any glimmer of admiration for the Northern Irishman.

All is fair in love and war, but there’s only so many times one man can irritate a fanbase before they say enough is enough.

For many Hoops fans, that time has been and passed, but if Rodgers beats them to the punch for a priority target this summer – a player who could be really important to the Bhoys – many more will be left fuming.
