West Ham have agreed to sell Lucas Perez to Alaves, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster claim the Spanish club have agreed to pay the Hammers £2.21million for the 30-year-old attacker and that agreeing personal terms is not expected to be a problem.

Sky Sports report that the Spaniard will complete the move subject to passing a medical and that the Hammers have included a 30 percent sell on clause in the deal.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes, even though the fee for Perez isn’t exactly mouthwatering.

The 30-year-old arrived at the London Stadium from Arsenal last summer and has struggled to deliver the goods for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

Perez managed to make 15 league appearances for the Hammers, none of his outings lasted 90 minutes, and he scored only three goals in those displays.

So considering his age and that he is thought to earn a staggering £80,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), then the Hammers are making a good move by acting fast to get him off their books.

Likely to happen?

Yes.

Sky Sports report that a fee is agreed and that personal problems shouldn’t be a problem to agree, so by all accounts Perez is on the brink of packing his bags.

The only reason why this deal won’t go through is if a team try to gazump Alaves before they wrap up a deal or if Perez is secretly harbouring an injury, but that seems unlikely.

It’s no surprise that this deal may happen in quick fashion as Perez will surely be jumping at the bit to join a side who may regularly play him.
