West Ham have made their transfer strategy clear this summer, with the club reportedly ready to sell fringe players in order to add to their slender transfer budget.

The confirmed releases of high earners at the club such as Samir Nasri, Andy Carroll, and Adrian, will have helped boost the club’s wage budget on top of that as well.

With the transfer window underway, West Ham were reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio to have held talks with Celta Vigo over a possible move for duo Maxi Gomez and Stanislav Lobotka, in a move which would require the Hammers to spend £53.4million.

Online football outlet, Claret and Hugh, claim that director of football Mario Husillos will be tested in his negotiation skills to make this deal happen – and the Argentine must now prove his worth to the club and more.

After their reported transfer budget was only revealed at £30million, Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping for Husillos to work some magic and deliver the goods – in this case, a double signing from Celta Vigo.

Gomez, 22, would offer great pace and determination up-front for the Hammers after the Uruguayan international was involved 18 goals in his 35 league appearances.

Lobotka, 24, also offers international experience from midfield and his grit would fit in perfectly next to one of Mark Noble and Declan Rice, if not both.

Husillos has arrived at a critical summer for West Ham and now is the time for Pellegrini’s side to push on in the Premier League, and the Argentine could help his club massively should he be able to secure this first deal.
