Many Aston Villa fans are against their club splashing the cash on Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson this summer after it was reported by the Mirror that he’d cost £21million. The Mirror reported that the Villans were one of a number of teams chasing the 22-year-old winger, but it seems despite his impressive 2018/19 season on loan at Derby, many supporters weren’t keen on their club signing him due to his price. The newspaper claimed that Liverpool were ready to see clubs scramble to win Wilson’s signature, and clearly that has led to them believing they can push their luck with the player’s price tag, and who can blame them? Someone is probably silly enough to pay it. Wilson may have scored 18 goals and six assists for Derby in the Championship last season, but he hasn’t proven himself in the top-flight as of yet. While the winger will surely get better given his age, paying above £20million on just raw potential seems crazy. So it’s no surprise that one Villans fan would rather just utilise Conor Hourihane, while several simply said no thanks.
