Jermaine Jenas noticed Tottenham defender Danny Rose lost control of the ball while exchanging passes with Heung-min Son in training and couldn’t help but send him a cheeky message as a result.

The former Spurs player was watching Mauricio Pochettino’s side train ahead of the Champions League final against Liverpool and ended up filming Rose and Son in action.

Jenas shared footage of Son and Rose exchanging several passes before Rose dropped the ball, with the defender looking frustrated, and Jenas sent a three-word message to the full-back to share his ‘shock’ that it was Rose who ended the passing sequence.

“Shock you lost,” wrote the former Tottenham midfielder on his Instagram story.

OPINION

Jenas clearly was being cheeky while messaging Rose’s private Instagram account as he used the laughing face emoji to accompany his message. However given how frustrated Rose looked over losing control of the ball, he may take a moment before he laughs at Jenas’ message. It was very promising to see the 28-year-old left-back look so passionate about losing a training drill game, as it shows he is fired up to wow against Liverpool on Saturday. Rose has had a very impressive 2018/19 season by all accounts and helping his side win the Champions League will surely be the cherry on top. The full-back has featured 36 times, registering five assists in the process, and has been one of Spurs’ most reliable defenders. Rose has managed to shine, see the first-leg of the semi-final against Ajax even when his teammates have not been at the races. With this in mind, you feel the defender is a shoo-in to start against the Reds even if he can’t beat Son in a passing game.
