Alan Brazil revealed he was unsure about the futures of Tottenham first-team trio Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen.

The talkSPORT host shared that Sun journalist Martin Lipton had claimed during Brazil’s show on Monday, that five or six Spurs players would definitely leave this summer.

“Martin Lipton told us yesterday five or six will definitely go,” said Brazil on talkSPORT (7:12am, Tuesday June 4th).

This prompted Laura Woods to gasp and Dean Saunders to ask whether it will be the fringe players who left, as Brazil added he thought Lipton was suggesting players would be ‘pushed out.’

Brazil then added to what he said to reveal he was unsure about the futures of Alderweireld, Eriksen and Alli as he questioned whether the trio would be the ones to exit.

“I think he was thinking about Toby people like that,” stated the talkSPORT host.

“Could Dele go? Eriksen, will he go?”

OPINION

Eriksen and Alderweireld have been linked with exits previously, but it seems Brazil has at least somewhat of a small feeling that Alli should be sweating over his future. However it’s hard to see why he thinks the English midfielder will soon pack his bags. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder is contracted to stay at Spurs until 2024 and it’s hard to see what would force him to want to move. After all, just like Eriksen and Alderweireld, Alli is a regular in Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team. Alli made 38 appearances in his 2018/19 campaign and didn’t seem unhappy in his outings or anything like that. While the 23-year-old may not have had the best season form-wise, he managed only seven goals and eight assists, surely that won’t lead to Spurs considering selling him? After all Alli is still young and it may have just been a blip of a season for him.
