Everton winger Henry Onyekuru has entered advanced talks to rejoin Galatasaray on loan, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football news outlet claim that Everton reportedly outpriced Galatasaray with an asking fee of £20million to permanently sign the 22-year-old, who will now look to re-sign him on loan with a reported £2million figure mooted for that that to happen.

The Nigerian international spent last season at the Turkish club, in what was his second loan spell after failing to earn a work permit after his move to the Premier League in 2017.

Onyekuru was in scintillating form for Galatasaray this season, scoring 16 goals and assisting a further six in his 44 appearances in all competitions, helping his side to league and cup success.

Good move for Everton?

This is certainly the right move for everyone involved in the deal. Everton will get the Nigerian’s wages off their books for another season, Onyekuru will get regular football and Galatasaray still gets to keep the player for another season despite not being able to afford the £2omillion price set by the Toffees.

There is no point in Marco Silva keeping Onyekuru at the club while they still struggle to earn a work permit for the 22-year-old and a £2million fee just for a loan move is a reason to celebrate.

With Onyekuru set to star in this summers’ African Cup of Nations, his valuation could rise even further than just £20million and add another potentially successful season in Turkey next year, and Everton could be set for huge profit for a player they only signed for £7million.

The only downfall would be potentially permanently losing a star for the future.

Likely to happen?

A move for Onyekuru seems destined to happen at this stage with both Galatasaray interested and Everton wanting to move him on due to not being able to use the 22-year-old.

The Nigerian international has expressed his want to rejoin the Turkish champions for another shot at success there and potential Champions League football on offer.

Despite not being able to afford the reported £20million asking price, Galatasaray seem to be happy to spend £2million on loaning the winger and have entered advanced talks with both parties. This move should be completed sooner rather than later.
