Life is never simple at Newcastle United – with the ongoing takeover saga seeming to take forever, while Rafael Benitez has still not signed a new deal at the club.

The Spaniard’s current deal at the club will run out at the end of June, with the Magpies’ faithful hoping that the former Liverpool boss will sign a new deal before it runs out.

Newcastle fans will no doubt have relaxed slightly after it was revealed that Benitez is expected to sign a new deal at St James’ Park and will target five new players in the summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist revealed on his personal Twitter account, that Benitez has heard what his budget will be and will look to target five fresh faces in the transfer window.

This will come with a sigh of relief from the North East, with their club looking to conduct a considerable amount of work in terms of incomings in the window.

Despite there not being any names or positions revealed that Benitez is preferencing just yet, it is clear that Newcastle will be making their striking options their main target this summer.

With ongoing rumours surrounding the future of Salomon Rondon, Benitez would love to bring the Venezuelan back to the club after he impressed massively during his loan spell from West Brom last season.

The permanent signing of Rondon could act as a chain reaction, with four fresh faces expected to arrive after the potential signing of Rondon.
