Manchester United are set to make Swansea winger Daniel James their first signing of the summer, according to The Mirror.

The paper report that the Swansea youngster made his way to Carrington for his medical on Thursday morning, and could finalise the deal before the end of the day.

The Mirror also claim that the Welsh international will complete a £15million deal to the Manchester club, and become and become the first new signing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The move should be completed by the end of Thursday before James travels with the Wales squad to Croatia.

Good move for United?

Yes, this could be a really good move.

James has impressed in the Championship this season, and was the subject to a near miss in his reported move to Leeds United in the January window, and it seems his ability has also been picked up by Premier League clubs too.

The winger has scored five goals for Swansea in all competitions this season, whilst also registering ten assists, and his pace would allow him to fit in at United should he get a shot at the first team in seasons to come.

Likely to happen?

Reports are suggesting that the deal is due to be finalised, so it seems likely now that the move is going to happen one way or another.

It also seems unlikely that the Welsh international would be able to turn down a move to one of the world’s biggest clubs, and a chance to play in the Premier League and continue to further his career.

This move looks like it could be a big one, and James definitely has the potential to grow and become an excellent player for United.
