COMMENTARY
Some Everton fans were left convinced that a new right-back would arrive at Goodison Park this summer after Jonjoe Kenny was confirmed to be joining Schalke on loan. The Toffees confirmed via their official website that the 22-year-old would spend his 2019/20 campaign in Germany and it does seem that they will need a replacement to arrive. Some Everton fans clearly realised this and were left saying the same thing; regarding a potential new recruit. While some believe that Marco Silva’s side must already have a new right-back lined-up with Kenny’s temporary exit confirmed, others think the Toffees are still on the hunt. Kenny may have only made nine Premier League appearances in his latest campaign but he was first-choice cover for Seamus Coleman, especially with Mason Holgate out on loan at West Bromwich Albion. Coleman will need cover to arrive as it seems unlikely the 30-year-old will be able to play 100% of the Toffees games next season, as he is only human after all.

New right back needed then. unless you're planning on signing at least 2 centre backs and using holgate as a back up for Coleman.

Good move, hope he gets plenty of game time.
So who covers for Coleman now Holgate or someone new?— colinsmith50 (@colinsmith50) June 10, 2019
Fantastic move for a young talented player whose never looked out of place when he’s played for us. Guess we’re in the market for another RB now then unless we’re planning on having Holgate move back over there?
