Aston Villa have bid £8.76million for Brentford attacker Said Benrahma, according to Le 10 Sport.

The French outlet claim that the Villans have made that offer for the 23-year-old winger but are one of a number of teams keen on him.

Le 10 Sport report that it’s quite possible other teams will come calling for Benrahma in the coming days after the Villans’ offer and that the battle for the Brentford player’s signature is only just beginning.

Good move for Aston Villa?

Yes.

Benrahma is a tremendous talent who would light up the Premier League if given an opportunity and he would definitely be able to walk into Dean Smith’s current first-team.

The 23-year-old was involved in 28 goals in his 2018/19 campaign for Brentford, he scored 11 while assisting 17, after featuring 45 times across all competitions.

Benrahma is a glorified assist machine and if the Villans had him to call upon, then their forward options would definitely not be short on chances to put away.

Likely to happen?

No, not if the Villans are going to submit such a low bid.

TEAMTalk previously reported that Brentford were going to slap a £30million price tag on Benrahma’s head, to show how much they rate him as being worth, and that means Aston Villa’s opening offer is way below the amount needed to get his services.

However maybe the Villans are just pushing their luck and once other teams start showing their hands by bidding for the winger, then they were soon up their offer.

Yet until they show they’re serious by upping their offer significantly, it doesn’t look like Benrahma is Aston Villa bound.
