COMMENTARY
Sun journalist Alan Nixon revealed, via his personal Twitter account, that Aston Villa were hunting the transfer market for a new No.1 goalkeeper, and some Villans fans already know who they want the club to sign. This player is none other than Stoke City’s Jack Butland. Upon Nixon detailing the Villan’s summer transfer hunt, a number of Villa supporters claimed the 26-year-old Stoke City keeper was the ideal shot-stopper to sign, with one stating that they thought he was a quality keeper. Butland, who earns £35,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), played 45 times for the Potters in the Championship in his 2018/19 campaign, and conceded 51 goals while keeping 18 clean sheets. The 26-year-old would surely be open to joining the Villans if they opted to pursue his services despite him being a regular at Stoke, as he is no doubt itching to play his football in the Premier League again. The Villans would be making a smart decision if they opted to listen to the fans below, as given that Butland is Premier League proven after featuring 77 times in the division; he’d be a safe pair of hands to call upon, now that Villa have been promoted.
VILLA. Want a new number one keeper. Kalinic may be sent out on loan
