Crystal Palace have rejected a £40m bid from Man United for Aaron Wan-Bissaka , according to the Times.

United have reportedly been in talks with Palace for weeks but the Times claim that Palace rate Wan-Biasska at closer to £65million and are confident United will eventually pay a higher price.

Chelsea and Man City are also interested in the right-back.

Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schria claimed that United had already agreed a five-year deal with Wan-Bissaka until 2024 but that talks were ongoing over the fee.

OPINION

This one doesn’t seem to be far away. If Schira’s claim is true and terms have already been agreed on a five-year deal, then surely it’s only a matter of time until the two clubs agree on a fee. Palace won’t sell him on the cheap  – he’s under contract until 2022 and is a player who’s attracting from the top clubs in England, not just Man United. They’ll be keen to snap him up before sides like Man City make their interest concrete and they’ve definitely got the money to get closer to the Palace valuation. It’s a huge fee but Wan-Bissaka was sensational last season for Palace and is exactly the sort of player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs at Old Trafford as he looks to rebuild the squad in his image. We expect Man United will go back in with another bid that could take the fee over the £50million mark and meeting in the middle seems like a very viable option. We expect Wan-Bissaka to be wearing red next season.
