Victor Orta is a long-time admirer of Leeds United target Ryan Kent and has targeted him for the last three years, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

Football Insider revealed on Sunday that the Whites have launched a double bid to sign Liverpool duo Kent and Harry Wilson on loan for next season.

Kent, 22, spent last season on loan at Steven Gerrard’s Rangers and enjoyed a great campaign in Scotland, scoring six and assisting nine goals in his 43 games.

The Sun journalist Nixon revealed on his personal Twitter account that Orta was a big admirer of the Liverpool starlet.

United’s Director of football is obviously a big fan of the 5ft 7 attacker [Source: Transfermarkt] who would offer great pace and flair in the attacking third for Leeds next season should a deal be completed.

OPINION

This will no doubt help Leeds’ cause, with Victor Orta definitely fired up to bring Ryan Kent to Elland Road after missing out on his signature two years on the spin. Both Bristol City and Rangers have seen what the 22-year-old can produce when given regular football and under Marcelo Bielsa, the Anfield starlet could add so much more to his game than just his blistering pace. To be involved in a big title push at the Yorkshire club will certainly tempt Kent and should the Whites be able to pull off a massive coup in their attempt to attract Harry Wilson to the club as well, then Orta could secure Kent on top of that. The former Gers’ winger did impress at Ibrox, his six goals and nine assists were a good effort but in the Championship much more would be expected and with regular game time as a winger surrounded by players such as Pablo Hernandez, Kent could certainly flourish should he accept a temporary move to the Whites.
