With joint Chairman David Gold believing West Ham can reach the top-six in the upcoming Premier League seasons, transfers will be needed to improve their squad. After a strong end to the season under Manuel Pellegrini, the Hammers managed to eventually scrape a top-half finish in the league, despite expectations undoubtedly being higher at the beginning of the campaign after smashing their transfer record twice in the same window. The arrivals of Issa Diop and Felipe Anderson led to great excitement at the London Stadium, and despite their two new recruits being the standout players alongside Lukas Fabianski, much more will be expected next season. It was reported on Tuesday by Sky Sports that West Ham are closing in on a £25million deal with Villareal over the signing of 23-year-old ace Pablo Fornals, much to the delight of the Hammers’ fans. Reacting on Twitter, the West Ham faithful were overjoyed with the news and praised the club over a great piece of potential business. One fan said: “Seen him play a few times. Very technical, quick, passes the ball well and can play in the center midfield, on the wings, or attacking role. Would fit Pellegrini’s style perfect in my opinion. Also, at that price tag fairly cheap”. It seems this move is ticking the necessary boxes for the Hammers faithful – now it is time to get it over the line.
