OPINION

Leeds United are reportedly interested in Bristol City ace Josh Brownhill and some fans on Twitter are correct to be skeptical about whether the midfielder will head to Elland Road this summer. Sky Sports reported via their live transfer blog on Friday [09:56am] that the Whites are interested in Brownhill, but face competition from Brighton, Sheffield United and Derby in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature after an impressive campaign at Ashton Gate. While it is correct to suggest that the former Preston midfielder would be a “cracking” addition to Marcelo Bielsa’s squad, the chances of it happening are low. Bristol City owner Steve Lansdown wanted to see Leeds docked pointed earlier in the season for the spygate incident, so it’s unlikely that he would want to do business with the Yorkshire club, and vice versa. It is a shame because Brownhill would be a good signing for Leeds, but this is one transfer link that is probably not going to come to fruition.
