Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has delivered a positive update on three Premier League players Leeds are trying to bring to Elland Road this summer.

Hay was responding to a Leeds fan who asked if the club was close to signing anyone.

Hay replied saying “Looking positive with Harrison. Kent and Costa will need plenty of work but both are possible.”

Hay delivered the update on Tuesday afternoon on his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

Harrison, who is on a reported £51k-a-week at Man City, will need to go some to justify those wages next season. He delivered in fits and spurts last season, but ultimately didn’t win the Leeds fans over. However, Man City and Pep Guardiola must have been happy with his development if they’re ready to send him back on loan again. A full pre-season with Marcelo Bielsa could really help a player who has all the raw talent but just seems to have trouble putting it all together on the pitch. He showed what he can do in the play-offs when he set-up a goal with a glorious pass from the touchline and fans will want to see more of this next season. Ryan Kent is potentially even more exciting. He had a brilliant season at Rangers and they want him back again. Unlike Harrison he delivered really good attacking returns, with six goals and nine assists for the Scottish giants. Leeds will be hoping that the lure of Championship football under Bielsa will be enough to tempt Jurgen Klopp away from putting the player back in the hands of Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard for another season.
