Jack Harrison is “looking likely” to return to Leeds United next season, according to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay.

The winger spent last season at Elland Road on loan from Manchester City, registering four goals and four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions.

Marcelo Bielsa is understood to be keen on resigning the 22-year-old this summer, as reported by Football Insider, and Hay believes that he may get his wish.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Hay said: “Harrison looking likely to come back”.

OPINION

This would be a great move for Leeds. There are a fair few United fans who probably feel as if Harrison didn’t quite live up to his billing during his first stint at Elland Road, but there were definite signs that he has the potential to go on and be a top player, and if he is given enough time and shown enough faith, there is no reason to believe that he can’t realise that potential at Leeds. People underestimate how hard it can be for a young player coming into a new club, especially one that carries the status and weight of expectation that Leeds does, and it can take a while for a youngster to get acclimatised. You would hope that if United do move for Harrison, he would pick up where he left off last season, and you would expect him to make a much more impressive impact from the outset.
