West Ham will be expected to pay £31million if they wish to sign summer target Pablo Fornals, according to Kaveh Solhekol.

It was revealed on Tuesday by Sky Sports that the London club were close to completing a cut-price deal of £25million for the Spanish international.

After that report, Sky reporter Solhekol reiterated on his personal Twitter account that Manuel Pellegrini received an asking price of just over £30million for Fornals, as the club hunts for a new attacking midfield option.

Solhekol also revealed that the Hammers are working on deals for five or six targets, with the expectation of making progress on fresh faces in the upcoming week.

Good move for West Ham?

At only 23-years-old, Fornals has already amassed great experience in Spain, playing for both Villareal and Malaga. Fornals managed to play 50 times in the previous season, scoring five and assisting a further six goals for his club.

A two-time Spanish international, Fornals would slot straight into the Hammers’ side, either behind Marko Arnautovic or a new potential forward at the London Stadium.

With Villareal only asking for £30million, Pellegrini will no doubt be tempted to bring in the 23-year-old, who has all the right tools to succeed in the Premier League.

Likely to happen?

With the reported Hammers’ transfer budget only lying at £30million, Mario Husillos will need to sell more first-team players at the club to fund further transfer business in the summer.

Captain Mark Noble did reveal he expects younger players to join the club this transfer window, and Fornals fits perfectly into that category.

With Sky Sports reporting that a deal is close, Hammers’ fans will not be judged should they expect a new face at the club this week.
