Coventry City chief executive Dave Boddy has insisted that the club could still bring former Wolves loanee Bright Enobakhare to the club, despite the player signing a contract extension at Molineux.

Enobakhare, 21, spent the second half of last season on loan at the League One club, scoring six goals and assisting three others in 18 appearances.

The striker signed a one-year extension to his Wolves deal last week, but speaking to CoventryLive, Boddy said that there is still a chance his side could bring him back across the Midlands next term.

“Absolutely not,”the chief executive said when asked if another spell at Coventry for Enobakhare was out of the picture.

“We could still potentially buy him or take him on loan again. It depends on what he wants to do really.

“I think Wolves are waiting to see what he does.”

OPINION

You would think Boddy is right here, there is definitely a chance Enobakhare could go back to Coventry next season, because what are the chances of the player getting a look in at Wolves? In fact, his move across the Midlands was not his only loan move of the season. The 21-year-old had a spell north of the border with Kilmarnock from August until January, but he did not impress, only making six Premiership appearances without scoring a goal. But he came back and went to Coventry, and it is no wonder Boddy has expressed interest in bringing him back. He was a major reason for Coventry’s promotion push last term, and after his impact in such a short space of time, you have to wonder whether Coventry could have gone up had Enobakhare been around for the full season. There is no doubt, though, that the League One side would welcome him back with open arms after his brilliant stint.
