Senior BBC journalist Dan Roan has delivered an update on potential Leeds investment this summer.

After a question from a Leeds fan asking specifically about investment from Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), Roan revealed that six parties are interested in investing in the club.

However, he said that the QSI story was being “exaggerated” and that Andrea Radrizzani “has no intention to sell at this stage”.

It had been previously reported by the New York Times that QSI were in advanced talks over buying a stake of the club.

Roan delivered the update on Tuesday evening on his personal Twitter account.

OPINION

The QSI talk has endured despite messages coming from Elland Road that Radrizzani is not interested in selling a stake at the moment. That makes sense – Marcelo Bielsa is staying for another year and if he can get the club promoted next season then Radrizzani will be able to sell at a vastly inflated price. If Bielsa doesn’t win promotion, we can’t see him staying for another year and Radrizzani might have to seek out further investment. It sets the scene for another high-stakes season at Leeds. There might not be much money to spend this summer but in Bielsa Leeds have the best manager in the Championship, and he showed how big an impact that can have last campaign. With the experience he’s got of the Championship and a few new faces on loan from the Premier League this summer, we think Leeds have a fantastic chance of getting back in the Premier League in their centenary year. It’s no wonder there are multiple parties trying to get in on the action.
