Celtic and Rangers are ready for an off-the-pitch battle for Kilmarnock star Greg Taylor, according to the Daily Record.

The report claims that Championship side Hull are also interested in the 21-year-old left-back who made his full debut for Scotland in their recent qualifier against Belgium.

Hull would be willing to pay £400,000 but the report claims that Kilmarnock think that Taylor’s value is ‘growing by the day’.

OPINION

The 21-year-old’s star is rising fast after his debut for Scotland last week. He made 41 appearances for Kilmarnock last season and has been turning head since moving there from the Rangers youth set-up. The report claims that either Celtic or Rangers would have to move on a left-back to accommodate the player, but that could well happen. Kris Boyd has said that a new left-back should be Rangers’ top priority this summer after a poor showing from Borna Barisic. Celtic’s Kieran Tierney has been linked with a move away this summer and that could mean the two Scottish clubs going all-out for Taylor. After a successful season in the Premiership and breaking through into the Scotland team, Taylor might feel that his immediate future is best served up north and having both giants of the Premiership after him will be a tempting proposition.
