Valentin Rongier has been linked with Aston Villa and that has blown away many of the club’s supporters on Twitter because the Nantes midfielder would be a top signing if Dean Smith could pull off a deal this summer. French news outlet Le Quotidien du Foot has reported that Villa are interested in signing the 24-year-old ahead of next season, but face competition from Lyon and Southampton. It is understood that Valentin is valued at £13.3million by Nantes and the central midfielder is considering a move away from the Ligue 1 club. It all looks good for Villa, who could do with a player like Valentin to add some quality to their squad ahead of next season. The Frenchman impressed in Ligue 1 as he wore the captain’s armband for Nantes this season and it does not seem as though Villa can go wrong for just over £13million. Aston Villa fans want to see some exciting signings this summer and not just players that have done well in the Championship. Valentin is proven in top-flight football and supporters have every right to be thrilled about this transfer report.
