OPINION
West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to bemoan a report suggesting the club are hoping to appoint a new manager before the end of June, according to BBC Sport. The Baggies sacked manager Darren Moore with the club in fourth place in the Championship table in March, with James Shan taking charge until the end of the season. Shan was unable to get West Brom promoted via the end of season play-offs, with the Baggies losing to rivals Aston Villa in the semi-finals. That means that the club will be starting a successive campaign outside of the top flight, after they were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2017/18 season. West Brom’s next permanent appointment will be crucial for the club’s hopes of a return to the top flight, with parachute payments declining before running out for sides who do not make a swift return to the Premier League. The club’s supporters will hope whoever is in charge next term will be able to help guide West Brom to promotion next season.
