Man United are on the verge of completing a deal for Swansea winger Daniel James and the deal could be done later on today, according to Jim White.

Sky Sports have reported that Man United have agreed personal terms with James and the Daily Mail reported that the two clubs had agreed a £15million fee for the player.

Talking on talkSPORT, White, who heads up the deadline transfer coverage on Sky Sports, said the deal could be done as soon as today.

“I’m just hearing that Daniel James to Man United could be done sometime later today,” said White on talkSPORT (Jim White Show, Tuesday, 10am)

OPINION

What a meteoric rise for Daniel James. When Leeds were first linked with the player many of their fans were left nonplussed by him. However, those attitudes soon changed as it became clear that he was the club’s number one target. The January deal fell through on deadline day and since then James has established himself as one of the most sought-after young attackers in the English game. He’s super-fast and has a direct style that should make him very popular with the United fans. And the £15m deal is significant for other reasons too, representing a real departure from signing big-money players often with egos to match. We’re not sure whether James will be a first-team player straight away but he’s definitely got the talent to be a squad player for Solskjaer already and could easily push for a regular first-team start if he takes his game up another level at Old Trafford. It’s an exciting move.
