An extended deal is surely in the pipeline for Aston Villa loan star Tyrone Mings after he hailed his temporary move to the Midlands as a “match made in heaven”.

Speaking to the club in quotes reported by Villa’s official Twitter account, Mings – who joined from Bournemouth until the end of the season – raved about his move from the south coast.

“I am absolutely loving it here,” the 26-year-old said. “I have been made to feel very, very welcome by the fans. It’s been fantastic. It feels perfect.”

And it is no wonder Mings is loving it at Villa Park. Since arriving from the Cherries, the centre-back has become a key part of the side’s defence, keeping six clean sheets in 15 Championship appearances and chipping in with two goals.

He is a key reason why Villa are in Monday’s play-off final, and he has been a wonderful addition to the side in the second half of the season.

His latest comments suggest that he is more than willing to stay on at Villa Park too. It looks like he is really enjoying the atmosphere around the club and that the fans have welcomed him in with open arms.

Those fans will now be hoping that these comments can translate into an extended deal, since Mings is due to travel back down south after the play-off final, whatever the result.

It would be a blow to Villa, not only because of how good Mings has been but because of the fact that Villa need defensive additions, hence why the player was brought in in the first place.

There is one last chance for Mings to show his quality for Villa in the play-off final and, after that, fans can only hope that his love for the club will progress to him staying on.
