Tottenham have tabled multiple “offers” to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Telefoot.

The French news outlet claims that Spurs are winning the race to sign the 22-year-old France international, who is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus as they have made contact with his representatives.

It is understood that Ndombele is “excited” by the prospect of playing for Tottenham, which is great news for the North London club as Le10Sport has recently reported that the £52.6million-rated centre-midfielder faces a choice about where he wants to head in the summer transfer window.

Good move for Tottenham?

Ndombele has had a great season in Ligue 1 and is exactly the kind of midfielder that Mauricio Pochettino needs to add to his squad in the summer transfer window.

The former Amiens player has made 48 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring two goals and supplying eight assists in the process.

He is not a dissimilar player to Mousa Dembele, who left Tottenham in January and could fill the void that was left by the Belgium international.

Tottenham need to add strength in depth to their midfield options anyway and Ndombele should be a quality addition for Pochettino if a fee can be agreed with Lyon.

Likely to happen?

It is a boost for Spurs that Ndombele is excited by the prospect of playing for the Premier League club.

Spurs are Champions League finalists, have consistently finished in the top-four and have the most beautiful football stadium in the world to play in now that the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has finally been opened.

Those of the kind of things that can attract a player like Ndombele, but Daniel Levy needs to ensure that he is offering enough money to beat the likes of PSG and Juventus to his signature.
