OPINION
Tottenham are reportedly plotting a swoop to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos and that has led to many fans on Twitter drooling over the prospect of the 22-year-old heading to North London in the summer. Spanish news outlet El Desmarque has claimed that Spurs are prepared to spend up to £43.9million on the Spain international, who is likely to leave the Bernabeu in the summer. Ceballos has not had an amazing spell at Real Madrid after joining them from Real Betis in 2017, but understandably there are some Spurs supporters who can see that he would be an asset to their side. Mauricio Pochettino is going to need central midfielders of Ceballos’ ilk in the summer and that is surely what is leaving these fans purring over the thought of signing him. He’s good on the ball and off it and comes with the experience of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Tottenham need to be looking at more players like Ceballos and while he is a good player, they should definitely try to sign him for less than what has been mentioned in this report.

This dude is class. That’s too expensive though, for a fringe player at RM

I want Ndombele but Ceballos would be so good as well. Reckon he'd cost less than that https://t.co/E2ELi79cN0

He’s actually really good. I wanted him before he went to Madrid. Same with Andre Gomes

He's so good for them, it would be a good signing if under 40

Interesting. Fits the profile we need to be going for. Young but not too you, talented but not too hyped. Son 2.0. Also is a skilful but still fairly hardworking CM which is exactly the player we need. Prefer him to Andre Gomes. Maybe plan B if Villa go up and Grealish is a no-go
