James Maddison enjoyed a fine debut season at Leicester, so it is no surprise to see many Tottenham fans on Twitter blown away by the idea of signing the 22-year-old in the summer transfer window. According to the Mirror, Mauricio Pochettino is keen on signing Maddison ahead of next season and is willing use some of the club’s £72million prize money from the Champions League to sign the England Under-21 international. As long as he does not cost too much, Maddison would be a fine addition to the Spurs midfield. He made 38 appearances in all competitions this term for the Foxes, scoring seven goals and supplying seven assists in the process. If Christian Eriksen leaves North London then the former Norwich and Coventry playmaker is bound to be a decent replacement. He’s not on Eriksen’s level, but he can get nearer to it as he continues to develop. Spurs fans should be excited by this transfer report.
