Stan Collymore has welcomed the prospect of Spurs signing Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon.

The 18-year-old is close to a move to North London for £25 million, according to The Sun.

Former England international and pundit Stan Collymore believes that Sessegnon would be a good fit for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and took to Twitter to discuss his thoughts on the potential move.

“Liking the Sessegnon to Spurs shout. With a vibrant, young dressing room around him, lad could fly in several positions. Tough this season with the billing he got last, plus the huge turnover of players at Fulham.”

OPINION

At just 18-years-old, Sessegnon has the potential to become a superstar. The England Under 21 international played 35 times in the Premier League for a Fulham side that suffered immediate relegation. The Spurs squad is brimming with quality and if Sessegnon does move to the club, he would be learning off some of the very best in England. This would be a very smart investment and Sessegnon’s value could rocket in the future. The £25 million price that has been reported is cheap and prior to Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League it was reportedly much higher. With Danny Rose’ future at the club uncertain, Sessegnon could stake a claim for the left-back spot and really make an impression in the top-flight. Collymore is correct with his points – his versatility could really benefit Spurs whilst gaining vital experience at the top-level. Fulham may well be keen to cash in on the youngster to help fund their promotion push in the Championship next season.
