Tottenham are planning an £80 million double swoop for Bournemouth pair Callum Wilson and David Brooks, according to the Sun.

The duo have enjoyed stellar seasons for the Cherries, scoring 15 and seven goals respectively in all competitions.

And it is understood that Spurs are keen to capitalise on that form with a move this summer.

Wilson is wanted as cover for Kane, while Brooks, 21, is seen as a good long term investment.

Good move for Tottenham?

If they can pull it off, then yes, of course. The duo have both proven that they are Premier League quality, and in the case of Brooks, who can say how good he could actually become? Spurs need to make signings this summer, that much is clear, and another striker and some more creativity never goes amiss. £80 million is a lot of money, but when you look at that as £40 million each, especially in the current climate of inflated fees, that isn’t too bad.

Likely to happen?

It depends on a couple of things. Firstly, are Spurs likely to fork out £80 million on a pair of players who aren’t likely to start every week? Fans will hope so, and the market may dictate that they have to spend big, even for reserve players, but it remains to be seen. The other thing is whether for not Wilson in particular will be happy to play second fiddle to Harry Kane. It has been shown that if the England captain is fit, he starts, simple as that. Would Wilson be content with a spot on the bench most weeks? You get the impression that if he does leave Bournemouth, it will be for first team football.
